Cemify Plot Statuses

Plot statuses in Cemify allow you to categorize and color code your cemetery plots, making inventory management at your cemetery easy and efficient. This article will introduce you to plot statuses and show you how to customize and utilize them within your Cemify account.

What is a Plot Status?

A plot's status is an indication of the status or current state of that plot. For example, common plot statuses include:

Assigning plot statuses will allow you to categorize your cemetery inventory and better manage future plot sales and burials. If you're utilizing Cemify's digital mapping feature, it will also control the plot's color coding on your map, giving you a helpful visualization of your cemetery plots:

How can I adjust my default plot statuses?

The names, descriptions & color coding of your plot statuses are fully customizable by system administrators. To make changes, simply click on Account & system settings in your upper right hand menu. Then, select Plots in the left sidebar of your system settings.

This will show you a list of the plot statuses you are currently using

To edit an existing plot statuses name, description, or color coding, click on the Edit button next to it to pull up the Edit Plot Status window:

Make your desired changes, then click Save:

Changing the name of a default plot status will also automatically update the status of any plot currently using that status.

How do I add a new plot status?

To add a new plot status to your account, click on Add New Plot Status:

Then enter the details of the new status and click Save.

How do I delete a plot status?

To delete a plot status, click on the Delete button next to it. If the status you are deleting is in use by other plots, you will be asked to set a new status for any plots utilizing the to be deleted status.

How do I adjust the ordering of plot statuses?

To adjust a plot statuses ordering (the order in which they appear in lists) click and drag the plot statuses into your preferred order, then click Save Ordering Change:

What are status descriptions?

Status descriptions allow you to add clarity to a what a plot status' description or definition is. This will help to promote a common understanding amongst your cemetery staff. A plot statuses description will show up whenever you hover on it within Cemify:

How do I change an individual plot's status?

To change the status for a plot, go to that plot's page, then click on Change Status in the plot header (under the plot name):

Select the appropriate status, then click Save:

One of my color codes is not displaying well, how can I adjust it?

Previously in Cemify, you were able to select any color code you'd like for a plot status. Now, we've pre-selected a group of 14 curated plot status color schemes that are sure to be legible and work well throughout the software. If one of your existing plot status colors is not legible within the software, consider using the steps outlined above to adjust the plot status color to one of our default curated color schemes.
