How to Record Transfers of Plot Ownership

Sometimes, plot owners may need to transfer ownership due to various reasons, such as selling the plot, passing it to a family member, or making administrative updates. In Cemify, you can easily reflect these changes while maintaining accurate records. Follow the steps below to update plot ownership.

Steps to Record a Plot Ownership Transfer:

  1. Find the Lot — Go to the lot in question and open its plot page.
  2. Mark the Previous Owner — Find the current owner listed on the plot. Click the three-dot menu next to their name and select "Mark as Previous Owner" to indicate this person once owned the plot, but is no longer a current owner.
  3. Add the New Owner — Click "Add Owner" and enter the new owner’s details, like their name and contact information.
  4. Add a Note About the Transfer — Click "Notes" on the left-side menu, then select "Add A Note". Enter any important details about the transfer, like the date, reason, or any related documents.

Important Considerations:

  • Preserve the Original Sales Record: The original sale should remain in the system. Ownership transfers do not affect past sales history, and previous transactions should be retained for reference.
  • No Additional Sales Record Needed: If the transfer does not involve a new purchase or financial transaction, you do not need to create a new sales record. Simply updating the ownership details will be sufficient.

By following these steps, you can ensure that ownership records remain accurate while maintaining a clear historical trail of lot transactions.
